Big fighting words are coming from the SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio camps, as RGG Summit 2024 has announced its air date. We're sure to be tuning in, with big promises of major news for the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series.
Rya Ga Gotoku Studio has confirmed that the RGG Summit 2024 will take place on September 20 at 3 a.m. PT/6 am EST/11 am BST. In addition, the next Yakuza/Like a Dragon game is expected to be announced.
RGG Summit 2024 promises big Yakuza news
Although Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth was only released in January 2024, RGG isn't wasting its time in powering ahead with what's next. It's unclear whether this will be another mainline game or a spin-off in the vein of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Interestingly, SEGA registered a trademark for "Yakuza Wars" in August 2024. Little else is known, other than it'll feature the live-action and CG Minato Girls akin to the hostesses from previous titles. Whatever is coming, RGG has promised we'll be "surprised" by the announcement.
With Tokyo Game Show taking place from September 26 - 29, it looks like those tuning in for the RGG Summit will get an early peek at what's next - dare we ask for a Judgment revival? Still, with Japanese residents able to win tickets, we're expecting a supersized RGG Summit in 2024.
