Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo will forever go down in history as one of the best in-game leaders that Counter-Strike has ever seen, having spent nearly two decades leading teams to success on the original title, Source, as well as Global Offensive. Regardless of individual opinions, the AWPer will always be applauded for captaining his teams to over $5 million worth of winnings throughout his career, most notably operating on teams such as SK Gaming, MIBR, and Team Liquid.

However, his legacy has had to be defended in a recent social media exchange, as the current best player in the world has fended off claims from esports personality Duncan "Thorin" Shields.

Shields, who recently claimed "I am esports" in a damning social media rant, was met with a barrage of replies coming to the defence of FalleN, including comments from two-time CS:GO player of the year Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev.

Thorin Claims FalleN Is Overrated

Taking to Twitter, Shields claimed that "FalleN is the most over-rated player in the history of CS:GO," sparking outrage from a range of fans and professionals. He added, "[He] has never been the best player on any line-up but people try to make it sound like the guy was Zidane".

The comparison to Zidane might not be too accurate, however, with his footballing knowledge coming under scrutiny, maybe FalleN would be best compared to Didier Deschamps, if we're sticking with France. His technical ability might not have him decorated alongside Pele and Maradona, but his mentality and leadership have resulted in him winning a World Cup, Champions League, and European Cup. FalleN's two Major trophies and 11 offline LAN gold medals make him undoubtedly one of the best leaders in CS:GO history.

S1mple Rebukes 'FalleN Is Overrated' Claims

Following his claims, S1mple was amongst many to disagree, simply telling Thorin to "f**k off" with such a bold statement.

The two exchanged heated messages in the following replies, with the analyst/host calling S1mple "two-faced", while "moron" was the phrase that was hurled Thorin's way.

Having seen the events unfold, FalleN was quick to thank S1mple for his support, tweeting, "Thanks Sasha I appreciate it. You are the GOAT and it means a lot to me."

Interestingly, Thorin's previous YouTube video of "FalleN is the Best IGL in the World (CS:GO)" has now begun to recirculate, which almost proves that the esports personality might not necessarily agree with his own statement.
