Invincible Season 2 is finally on its way, with a brand-new teaser launched by Amazon Studios, and frankly, it's about time.

Fans have been waiting long enough since the closure of the dramatic and violent finale of Season 1, and Mark's story is far from over.

Robert Kirkman's comic series extends far, far beyond the events we've seen on the small screen so far. But, it seems that it might not just be TV that we get to see these stories come to life.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Invincible writer and Co-Creator Robert Kirkman has spoken about the potential of the superhero story. According to the man himself, there's every chance that it could translate to video games very nicely.

Coinciding with Invincible's 20th anniversary, Kirkman confirmed that Skybound Entertainment has some wide-ranging plans for video games. "I would say our plans in video games are all-encompassing," he says.

"A little bit of all of the above, so, you know, we'll see. Are those things possibly years away? Yeah. Could those things die between now and when they're planned to come out? Yeah."

Downplaying the idea though, Kirkman reiterated, "I could seem like I'm teasing something very cool if you watch this in hindsight. I could [also] seem like an idiot that has no idea what's going on.

"If you watch this, in hindsight, either of these things could happen. There are so many cool things on the horizon. I hope that it all comes together. If it all comes together, Invincible fans are going to be very happy."

When Can We Expect An Invincible Video Game?

Even though it looks like there are big plans for Mark to take flight on console and PC, Kirkman's comments suggest we probably shouldn't expect an Invincible game any time soon.

It'll take some time for Omni-Man to squeeze into his spandex, but hopefully, the wait won't be the same as the one between the first two seasons of the show - as that has been agonising enough.

There's a lot of potential for Invincible games, with the ideas of open-world adventures and Dragon Ball Z-style fighters, but we'll have to wait and see what comes of it. Up there with the idea of a video game based on The Boys, we have high hopes for Invincible
