An Elden Ring player has obliterated the speedrunning record after completing the game in just a ridiculous fifty minutes.

Jaws may drop at the idea of Elden Ring's whopping completion time. While some dedicated players may be in for the long haul, others are determined to plough through the game at lightning speed. A number of speedrunners, in particular, have already completed the impossible task of finishing the main storyline in swift fashion.

One speedrunner "niko bellic" achieved the seemingly impossible and not only managed to complete the game without dying, but all within the space of 2.5 hours. While it didn't look there could be any chance of beating the record, another speedrunner has managed to complete the game in less than an hour.

Who Holds The Elden Ring Speedrunning Record?

On March 3, YouTuber niko bellic shared their incredible 2.5-hour playthrough of Elden Ring, seemingly obtaining the record for the fastest speedrun of the fantasy RPG. Then, on March 9, YouTube channel LilAggy came along. Not only did they beat niko's speedrunning record, but they knocked it out of the park by finishing the game's main storyline in just under one hour. With such a jaw-dropping figure, it didn't look like anyone could possibly match, let alone beat, such an achievement.

Enter Twitch streamer and YouTuber "Distortion2", who through sheer determination and skill managed to complete Elden Ring in just 50 minutes. Claiming to be the "world's first 50-minute sub run" of the game, Distortion2 ploughed through the main storyline, facing off the game's bosses as if they were nothing. Meanwhile, the rest of us are still struggling to even make it past the first boss. You can watch Distortion2's full video below but tread cautiously if you're trying to avoid spoilers.

*Spoiler Alert*

Distortion2 didn't play through the game without some setbacks, however. For example, within the first two minutes of the game, they died by jumping off a bridge by the Chapel of Anticipation - which makes you wonder, can the game be beaten even quicker?

How Did Fans React To Distortion2 Elden Ring SpeedRun?

Understandably, viewers were blown away by Distortion2's unbelievable speedrun, completing Elden Ring in precisely 49 minutes and 29 seconds. One fan who offered their congratulations said: "After just a week? Unbelievable great job, finding a route in this massive game. How did you do that? You're a true legend." Another viewer who is ploughing through Elden Ring, commented: "Wow. I haven't even beat the game yet and Dist is already getting records. Congrats!"

It's hard to believe that anyone could possibly beat such an incredible feat from Distortion2. However, we also thought the same thing after niko's incredible 2.5-hour speedrun. As these players fight their way through the Lands Between, it appears the battle for the title of the fastest Elden Ring speedrun might not be over yet.
