Get smashing those buttons because the PlayStation 5 pre-orders are officially live. After Microsoft dropped a reveal of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, all eyes were on Sony and when it would announce its own next-gen console. With an all-star PS5 presentation lifting the lid on Sony's next line, fans now know the PS5 and PS5 Digital will be rolling out on November 19.

With Sony's impressive presentation, it's no surprise there's been a lot of hype for the PS5's release, leading to sites around the world going into meltdown. PS5 pre-orders went live overnight and this morning (September 17), but as expected, stocks soon started to dwindle. A tempting price point of $499/£450 and $399/£359.99 for the full and digital versions means Sony is giving Microsoft a serious run for its money.

Rumours of a £600 price tag were soon debunked and we all flocked to the internet to try and pick up PS5 pre-orders. At the time of writing, here is where is and isn't stocking the PS5.

Safe to say, demand for both models of PS5 has been huge and retailers are struggling to cope.

If you're in the UK, here's where you can try and get a PS5 right now:

Amazon UK: The stock quickly ran out, meaning the PS5 is "currently unavailable". Amazon has promised more are on the way, and in the meantime, you can shop for games and accessories.

Currys PC World: Although pre-orders are live, the site is struggling. On the plus side, you only require a £5 deposit.

Argos: Pre-orders will be live from Friday (September 18)

GAME: Pre-order stock quickly sold out, but more consoles are expected. A £10 deposit is required.

Smyths Toys: Also out of stock right now. Accessories are still available to buy.

Very: Currently sold out for pre-orders. Remember that Very takes payment as soon as you order.

Carphone Warehouse: You can only register your interest

As for the USA, here are the best places to try and nab a PS5:

BestBuy: The site simply says coming soon

Amazon: Pre-orders are currently down, but check back for a restock

Walmart: Out of stock, but you can get a restock alert emailed to you

Of course, there's a whole host of games that are arguably the PS5's biggest selling point. As well as launch titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, there are big hitters including Resident Evil Village, Final Fantasy 16, and God of War: Ragnarok. Basically, you get a lot of bang for your buck with the PlayStation 5.

The PS4 has had a good run since its release back in 2013, dropping amazing games like Red Dead Redemption 2Grand Theft Auto VThe Last of Us, and Marvel's Spider-Man. It's no surprise the PS4 went on to become one of the best-selling consoles of all time, and although it gifted some late-stage bangers like The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, we have to accept that the end is nigh.

It's a case of out with the old, in with the new. All those critics that said the PS5 looked like a wi-fi router are looking a little sheepish right now. Get your PS5 pre-orders (if you can) while it's hot.
