For close-quarter gunfights in MW2, the majority of players will gravitate towards one of the popular meta SMGs like the ISO 45 or Lachmann Sub.
However, ultra-aggressive competitors who love racking up kills may be better suited with a powerhouse shotgun in their hands.
Of course, in order for a shotgun to be viable and perform in multiplayer, you need a top-tier build for the correct weapon. Well, MW2 expert WhosImmortal has identified a "busted" shotgun loadout that can instantly wipe out foes.

Introduced in Season 4 Reloaded, the MX Guardian has not been on the MW2 arsenal for long, but in WhosImmortal’s opinion, it's already established itself as the "best shotgun" in the current meta.
With the loadout above, nothing "stands a chance" against the MX Guardian at close quarters, all thanks to the gun's raw firepower. This makes it perfect for Shipment and Shoothouse, where you're running into enemies constantly and gunfights can be over in the blink of an eye.
It’s worth noting that at mid-range, this shotgun will struggle to compete. Running the Overkill perk alongside it may be the best strategy. That way, you'll have access to an AR or SMG of your choice, giving you the best chance in every skirmish you take.
How popular is the MX Guardian in Modern Warfare 2?
According to WZRanked, the MX Guardian has a 2.8% pick rate in Modern Warfare 2, which puts it tenth in the overall popularity rankings.
This certainly isn't low and shows the community is aware of its power, but the KV Broadside is still being used significantly more overall.
So, if you're a fan of shotguns and enjoy playing ultra-aggressive in multiplayer, the MX Guardian could be what you need to take your performances to the next level.
