PowerA Spectra Infinity Enhanced: The Neon-politan Of Controllers

PowerA

A carpenter can’t master his trade without his hammer. A marathon runner won’t finish a race wearing crocs. A T-Rex would never have become the beast of the prehistoric era with evolving his sharp gnashers. So why should gamers not use the best controller around?

It’s the beating heart of your gameplay. The fundamentals to your enjoyment. The necessary tool needed to become the best gamer you can be.

But so many controllers wilt under the pressure of your intense gameplay, and you end up searching for a new one on the internet a few months later.

Not the PowerA Spectra Infinity Enhanced Wireless Xbox Series X|S controller though, for it’s the ultimate neon-politan of pads.

Functionality

The problem with a Jack of all trades is that they don’t necessarily excel at anything. Solid sevens out of ten in all areas. But, in the world of gaming, especially with its accelerated prices, seven out of ten on the functionality of a controller isn’t often good enough.

PowerA Spectra Infinity isn’t a Jack of all trades, though. It’s first and foremost a competitive controller, who has later also mastered the art of flair.

Built with the Xbox Series X | S mould in mind, the PowerA Spectra Infinity boasts a matte black cover, precision-tuned analogues, and dual rumble motors, which allows for a robust yet lightweight feel to it, that melts right into your hands. After just minutes of scrolling through the menus of your chosen title, the smooth chocolate Neapolitan drips into your limbs, allowing you to be at one with the controller and immerse yourself into the game. Whether you’re bending the Thu’um in Skyrim, dropping into the Outlands in Apex Legends, or harnessing the power of Zeus and Odin in Smite, the PowerA Spectra Infinity doesn’t just control it, it allows you to become the game. No battery shortages. No stick drift. No interruptions to your immersive gaming experience.

Inclusive

By far the selling point of this controller is the flashy neon lights that can be adapted to your exact tastes. Personally, I like to sport my favourite team colours in a blend of red and white, like a strawberry dipped in sugar.

But, the blazing radiance isn’t restricted to yourself. In just two months, the PowerA Spectra Infinity has caught the eye of the most unexpected fans. First, a never-gaming, TOWIE-loving, member of my family, who dropped what she was doing to sit and colour-coordinate the razzle-dazzle with my now-pink Rocket League car. Hours later, she netted her first goal after de-ranking me severely.

With the ability to have a triple-threat of colours, and even a mind-easing breathing sensation to the illuminations, the LED lights make the PowerA Spectra Infinity much more than the standard pick-up from ASDA.

It’s not all bells and whistles too. In fact, the LED control is just an added bonus and can be switched off to remind you what a great controller you have at your fingertips.

Competitive

Completing the trifecta of flavours would normally be Vanilla, but there’s nothing plain Jane about the PowerA Spectra Infinity – it’s more of a flamboyant cookie dough, with simplistic features to enhance competitive gameplay and allow you to rise to the cookies and cream of the crop.

The two maple buttons placed on the rear side of the arms are an easy-to-use addition to a normal pad, which allow for a more adverse and speedy combination of in-game mechanics. Being able to transfer the attributes of the A/X/Y/B buttons only allows for more fluctuation in combining moving logistics with a game, generating more speed and precision rather than getting your fingers in a muddle.

The three-tier trigger stops also allow you to flick between shooters and driving games with ease, allowing for a quicker reaction time on games like Call of Duty, whilst being easily reverted back when you take to the back seat of Forza Horizon.

For roughly £35, very few controllers will be able to give you a fully adaptable competitive advantage whilst illuminating your attitude and encourage your dad to get involved in gaming. The PowerA Spectra Infinity is a must-have for neo-gamers and competitive spirits alike.
