While we all remember the days when Sony and Microsoft used to gatekeep their biggest IPs, it looks like that trend is dying down as the console wars (hopefully) burn to embers. We've seen the Green Team confirm former Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves have found a new home, while the Blue Team is rolling out more PC releases.

Sony has been a little slower in sharing its first-party games, with the likes of Days Gone paving the way for much bigger titles like The Last of Us Part I, God of War, and Marvel's Spider-Man. As Ghost of Tsushima prepares to swing a sword at PC, the upcoming Director's Cut promises a first for the gaming giant.

There's nothing worse than spending hours grinding away on a game in hopes of reaching that elusive platinum, only to have all that extra work stripped away when playing your favourite PS titles on PC. In a PlayStation first, Trophies will now be available on PC thanks to Ghost of Tsushima.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony confirmed, "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is the first PlayStation title on PC that uses a new PlayStation overlay, which includes your Friends list, Trophies, Settings, and your Profile." Think of it similar to Steam's overlay system but with a PlayStation twist.

The feature is available on Windows PC and can be accessed via the in-game menu or by pressing "SHIFT +F1" on your keyboard. It's all part of a push to create a more cohesive PlayStation ecosystem where it doesn't feel like you have to choose between PC and console.

Better yet, the PlayStation UK Twitter account confirmed that any trophies you unlocked on Ghost of Tsushima's console version of the Director's Cut will still be there when you play it on PC. So, don't worry, you won't have to hunt down those Easter eggs twice.

Also boasting crossplay support, you can enjoy the Ghost of Tsushima Legends multiplayer mode whether on PC, PS4, or PS5. With Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut coming on May 16, you don't have to wait long until we can display those PlayStation Trophies in all their glory on our PC ports.
