Modern Warfare 2's arsenal of weapons hasn't exactly got the best reputation in Warzone, especially when compared to their counterparts from MW3.

Overall, they've struggled to compete in the meta, and while some competitors adore OG picks like the M4, TAQ-56, and Kastov 762, it's hard to justify using them.

As a result, it's extremely exciting when a build is discovered for an MW2 gun that can thrive and is capable of solo-carrying matches in Season 2 Reloaded.

Thankfully, Warzone guru WhosImmortal has discovered exactly that with a sniper support AR that has a deadly "fast TTK" at close to mid-range.

If you're tired of MW3 weapons or SMGs for close-quarter combat, then WhosImmortal has suggested taking a trip down memory lane and opting for the OG FR Avancer.

This MW2 gun is a premium sniper support weapon equipped with a "really fast TTK" and most importantly, enough mobility to make aggressive plays during intense skirmishes.

Not only that, it comes packed with a lot of versatility as an AR, which means if push comes to shove, you can compete at slightly longer distances once you've mastered the weapon.

The FR Avancer does feel like a hidden gem, and while it's not going to dominate the meta in Season 2 Reloaded, it's perfect for those who love experimenting with "slept-on" weapons.

How popular is the FR Avancer in Warzone?

When we say this gun has been forgotten, we are not exaggerating with the FR Avancer sitting on an extremely low 0.25% pick rate according to WZStats.

It wouldn't be a surprise if you haven't seen this gun in-game since MW3's release, but it's well worth bucking that trend if you're looking for a diamond in the rough.

Sniper supports are brilliant carry weapons in Warzone and this one is certainly no different, especially if you miss the MW2 era.
