It's been a long time coming, but Modern Warfare 2 has finally arrived. After its original bang, players are forming an accurate leaderboard with newcomers to the competitive scene - starting in Bronze and the professionals being found throughout the Top 250 and Iridescent rank.

However, amid the leaderboard toppers - and even those ranks in the middle - there's a mass outbreak of cheaters affecting the Call of Duty ranks.

According to many top-tier players, there are a range of hackers ruining the Modern Warfare 2's Ranked mode. Now, they've rightly had enough and are branding it a "garbage" playlist until Infinity Ward takes the bins out.

Modern Warfare 2 pros slam "garbage" Ranked playlist

The Ranked playlist was initially hailed by most players, given its lucrative reward system and typically Treyarch progression path. However, it appears that the Ricochet anti-cheat is firmly focused on Warzone

Call of Duty League sensation and 2021-22 MVP runner-up Brandon "Dashy" Otell has already had enough, claiming that he is coming up against hackers in nearly every game.

Primarily, the cheaters are using wallhacks to identify player positions through obstacles, pre-aiming and pre-firing enemies at every convenience, and slashing players' real SR ratings in the process.

Hackers reportedly running riot on MW2 Ranked

Dashy hasn't been the only player to run into hackers. Boston Breach's newest European superstar, Ben "Beans" McMellon, was even approached by a cheater to team up. They mistakenly thought the pro player was hacking too.

Former World Champion Preston "Prestinni" Sanderson joked that these hackers are better than "IW FormaL" - a tip to Matthew "FormaL" Piper, who is widely regarded as having the best individual peak of all time during Infinite Warfare

Some pros have been able to meander through the hacker haven, with Chris "Parasite" Duarte currently sitting as the number one player in the world.

Others have simply given up on climbing the ranks of Ranked until Infinity Ward tackles the problem. We have a fear you might be waiting a while for that one!
