If you're a Call of Duty fan, you'll know all about the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 update on May 16, which nerfed the GS Magna, X13 Auto, and FTAC Siege sidearms.

Unfortunately, the patch appears to have come with some unintended side effects that are ruining players' gameplay experience. At the start of matches, a lot of the community is being hit with an unplayable MW2 flicker glitch that causes the game to stutter non-stop.

MW2 stutter glitch is making game completely unplayable

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user u/Muckerpuck showcased the glitch that is causing waves in both multiplayer and private matches, blocking out your screen with an annoying flare and causing gamers to throw down their controllers in rage.

It's almost as if Modern Warfare 2 is dropping to an extremely low framerate and is struggling to process what's happening on screen. According to the community in the thread, this major glitch only started occurring after the May 16 patch went live.

One user claimed, "Yeah, whatever 'UPDATE REQUIRES RESTART' did this time really screwed up." As you would expect, this bug caused a lot of backlash from players who labelled the problem as "absurd" and jokes that it felt like they were playing with "negative FPS."

Infinity Ward rolls out MW2 bug hotfix

While the devs have rolled a hotfix in an attempt to address resolve the issue, some players are still running into the bug, with one even revealing they "thought [their] GPU had died."

This comment and many others were posted hours after the fix had been rolled out, so it's hard to know if Infinity Ward has completely eradicated the bug.

Either way, it's clear a lot of the community is disappointed that a minor balance patch has caused this many performance problems.
