Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's campaign may have been short, but the community was rightly impressed with the story and the variety of locations they visited on the way.

Out of all the missions, Countdown stood out from the rest thanks to the incredible views of the Chicago skyline in the black of night. The final mission was a suitably glossy affair that should be celebrated as an explosive finale.

Well, MW2 players believe the devs missed a great opportunity by not transforming this area into a map for multiplayer. For them, it's the 'best-looking' location in the campaign and definitely deserves a spot in the map rotation.

MW2 players want Chicago campaign mission as new map

Chicago should be a MP map. It's the best looking campaign mission IMO.

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user u/bepi_s decided to voice their opinion that Chicago from the campaign should be a multiplayer map as it's the 'best-looking' location in MW2.

As expected, this sparked a mass of responses from the community, with one user adding they "don't understand why they don't make MP maps from single-player missions" more often.

Another player agreed with bepi_s that a modern city-style location would be amazing and that they "really miss urban (specifically American) maps." A third concluded, "I could definitely see a rooftop for a 6v6, and then a couple of city blocks for ground war."

It's clear CoD players are keen for the devs to take areas directly from the campaign, which opens up plenty of new content opportunities for future seasonal updates. Not only that, it would likely make the map development process easier for Infinity Ward in the future because the base design is already complete.

Countdown's Chicago wasn't the only suggestion from MW2 players in the thread, with one user putting forward the 'Wet Work' mission that's based in Amsterdam and another arguing the devs should have included the trailer park from the border crossing section of the campaign.

One user even suggested transforming the Countdown mission into a "Highrise Chicago remake" set at night. This would undoubtedly be a fan-favourite and add a fresh spin on an iconic location from CoD's past.

Either way, it's safe to say the community wants to see more campaign areas as multiplayer maps, let's just hope the devs take note.
