Amid calls for Highrise, Terminal, and Favela to be remastered from the old-school Modern Warfare 2 title and redeployed into MW2 as we know it, fans now think that they've found the next addition to the map pool.

We've already seen the remasters such as Shipment, Shoot House, Dome, and even the Call of Duty 1 map Neuville be turned into Taraq, but now, one a little fresher has been found in the background of Farm 18.

Having entered a private match on Farm 18, players are convinced that the mass city surrounding it also contains Petrov Oil Rig from 2019's Modern Warfare.

MW2 fans think they've spotted Petrov Oil Rig remaster in-game

Farm 18 already hosts one remastered map, with Pavlov's House being found as an Easter egg within the building side of the arena.

However, it seems an entire city is built up around the small 6v6 location, big enough to find a Warzone battle royale game within.

Interestingly, two oil rigs can be located just off the shore, with the layout of one of them appearing to be that of the Modern Warfare 2019 DLC map.

From the back-spawn on the helicopter pad, the cubed area on the left-hand side, and the walkway down to the right flank, the layout appears to be pretty much spot on.

"I miss that map, the flanks were fun as hell," said one fan on Reddit. Another added, "Yh was gonna say that. Looks like petrol oil rig."

Is Petrov Oil Rig coming to Modern Warfare 2?

Infinity Ward has already detailed the Season 3 content, with Pelayo's Lighthouse (a rework of Estate) and Black Gold (a nighttime map) being the 6v6 content at launch and Alboran Hatchery as the mid-season map too.

So, it's quite certain that if it is Petrov Oil Rig, it won't be coming until at least Season 4. On a long conveyor belt of remasters also found within Warzone 2 too, Petrov Oil Rig could also be one of those being held back for next year's game.
