Modern Warfare 3 is being played already

As has become a tradition with Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare 3 is already being played, as the creators have showcased their title to NBA players.

We're deep into the year and the information surrounding the next instalment of the Call of Duty franchise is being kept surprisingly under lock and key.

By this time of the year, we've normally had an official announcement of the upcoming game and even some information as to when we can expect beta test dates.

It might not be a case of Activision isn't ready though, but rather they are just learning to keep their information contained this year (besides the major Modern Warfare 3 leak). Before we got an official reveal, some rather special people have been giving it a test.

NBA players joined in with a Modern Warfare 3 showcase

For the last few years, Call of Duty has invited various partners down to test out their new game and give feedback, and the FPS creators have continued to strengthen their relationships with the NBA as players have dropped in amid their Las Vegas Summer League trip.

Several NBA stars have posted pictures of the event, where it seems Activision laid out early builds of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone integration on demos.

Some eagle-eyed fans have disputed that the screens are showing off the current Modern Warfare 2, although it's likely MW3 screens were strictly off-camera.

NBA players shockingly fail to leak Modern Warfare 3

In previous years, the influencer market has leaked images of the new Call of Duty games. In 2022, NFL players leaked the existence of the DMZ mode and confirmed that it would be integrated into Modern Warfare 2 rather than becoming a stand-alone game.

This time, the leaks have been kept at bay, despite the community being thirsty for more information on the upcoming game. An announcement for Modern Warfare 3 should be on the cards soon, but until then, we best keep an eye out on social media for typical influencer leaks.
