Sledgehammer Games' advent calendar appears to have quite the Christmas cracker underneath door number 15.
Having just got used to the meta for Warzone with the Modern Warfare 3 guns leading the way, the festive fun has now been shaken up like your morning Bucks Fizz, as the developers have decided to put us all back to square one.
Two weeks after Urzikstan's release, the Warzone developers have nerfed nearly every overpowered gun from Modern Warfare 3, leaving us scratching our baubles as to what to use now.
Warzone's meta slashed as developers nerf 'outlier' MW3 guns
Immediately after launch, fans of Warzone found that the Modern Warfare 3 weapons were the only viable guns, with the BAS-B, DG-56, and MTZ Interceptor rising to the top.
But as of December 15, a bunch of Modern Warfare 3 weapons have been nerfed, including the deadly trio mentioned above. The developers claimed "some outliers were performing above expectation. We have taken immediate steps to mitigate them to support a healthy engagement through the holiday break."
The wording also insinuates that this might be Warzone's last weapon balance patch of the year before the developers break up for the holidays themselves, which is bad news for those who have discovered DMR-zone and the return of the Akimbo Snakeshots.
Which guns have been nerfed in Warzone's December patch?
Β
According to the horse's mouth itself, the Warzone developers have nerfed the following guns from Modern Warfare 3:
- DG56
- FR 5.56
- BAS-B
- COR-45
- Renetti
- DM56
- KVD Enforcer
- MTZ Interceptor
- Tyr
- Haymaker
Despite the nerfs, fans have reported that both the MTZ Interceptor and the TYR are still unusually strong, which might cause quite a headache for players over the festive season.
Maybe 'tis the season for multiplayer and Christmas noobs, especially when Xbox Game Pass is throwing out flash sales.
