There's bad news coming your way following confirmation the upcoming remaster of World at War's Castle will be a focal point for a brand-new Warzone 2 Resurgence landscape,

Instead of being added to the 6v6 rotation in multiplayer, Modern Warfare 2 fans have been told to "not expect much" content in Season 2.

Ashika Island will arrive in Warzone 2, bringing a barrage of boats pulling upon its shores, unloading battle royale fanatics looking to explore the Japanese bonsais and the castle grounds.

But over in the multiplayer realms, there are no sails being raised on their beaches. Instead, barely anything is going on, and its forgotten-about population is growing increasingly concerned.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Mighty Only Include Two Maps

Modern Warfare 2 was supposed to have quite a chunky update in Season 2, with up to five new guns, new game modes, and even new maps.

However, it now seems that Castle isn't arriving as a 6v6 multiplayer map and Museum will also be just one of two maps set to come throughout Season 2.

According to CharlieIntel, only two maps will be a part of the Season 2 update, leaving one to come at launch and another one in the mid-season update.

Mw2 Fans Fuming At Lack Of Multiplayer Content In Season 2

In the wake of the tenth anniversary of Black Ops 2's Revolution DLC (containing maps Hydro, Downhill, Grind, and Mirage), Activision appears set to continue the lacklustre post-launch support of the multiplayer genre, and fans are tickled pink.

"We got seven 6v6 maps in Season 1 of Cold War alongside Rebirth Island, what the f**k is going on?" quizzed one angry fan.

Some players were already disgruntled from having solely remastered maps in Season 1, believing we're now owed many new places to play. "Considering we only got Ship and Shoothouse for S1, we deserve five new maps for this season lmao," said FaZe Clan content creator "Scope".

With Gunfight also set to arrive, the likelihood is that two 2v2 maps will also land, hoodwinking players into believing four maps are being added.

In reality, it appears that Modern Warfare 2 players will be getting quite accustomed to the landscapes they're already bored of.
