Damn, Marvel Snap certainly kicked up a storm, didn't it? Taking over the mobile world, the card game stripped out the heavy-handed and extensive strategy of the genre.
This let players use their decks more aggressively, in a simple and addictive PvP game that has proven a treat for card game enthusiasts and Marvel nerds alike.
But, it's not perfect, as there are a good few cards that many dedicated players reckon are in need of a big nerf. And now, they're getting one.
Marvel Snap's Leader Is Getting A Nerf
Players have been complaining for some time that the abilities of the Leader card are much too powerful to make games fun, fair or balanced. Now, it looks like Marvel Snap's team is jumping onto the card to issue a fix.
Chief Development Officer at Second Dinner Ben Brode has offered an update on the Leader card on Twitter, stating that it's coming under the magnifying glass soon.
Brode admitted that the Leader's effects were "very frustrating" to players because its last-minute use as a 6-Cost card could absolutely decimate a game that you were sure you'd won. The Leader is already getting some of his power taken away, with hints that it could be nerfed again further down the line.
What Did Marvel Snap's Leader Card Do?
The Leader is a six energy-cost card with four power, that when revealed, copies all of the opponent's played cards from the last turn - putting them on the side of the player who played the Leader.
So practically, it's an immensely cheeky one-up that gives players the chance to pinch their foe's great cards, plus gain an extra four power.
It's fair enough that players took issue with the card as it's pretty unfair - but at least it's in line for a change-up. Your days of ruining games are over, Leader.
