Ever since Pokemon absolutely nailed the mobile formula alongside Niantic with Pokemon GO, everyone has wanted a piece of the pie, and yet, nobody has been able to manage it.

The 'mon-catching romp inspired rip-offs with branding from Harry Potter to even inside Nintendo with a Pikmin attempt. Valiant though they may be, they simply couldn't make it work in the same way. That does mean less video game-themed injuries, but still.

However, it looks like taking the video game angle could be the problem with bringing the active game back to life - and Marvel thinks it has a solution.

Marvel reveals Marvel Move

Alongside Six to Start, Marvel has revealed a new "fitness adventure app" called Marvel Move, that aims to get you running 5Ks with the help of your favourite heroes.

The app works a little like Zombies, Run! - the game that spurs you to run by making you feel as though you're being chased by an undead horde. This time, you'll have Thor, Wolverine or Hulk in your ear, guiding you along stories and workouts.

The game is developed by the team behind Zombies, Run! and is set to feature stories like Thor & Loki's 5K Training and Asgard Heist. It's a pretty solid way to spur fans of Marvel Comics to get off their behinds - and frankly, it's working already, because we're all in.

High Rollers' Kim Richards has worked on the game and already hyped it (via Twitter) as "one of the best things I've worked on." Taking the Zombies, Run! concept and giving it a Marvel twist sounds like a winner to us.

When is Marvel Move coming out?

Marvel Move is set to launch at some point in summer 2023, but in the meantime, you can join the Founders Club and get a pretty hefty discount on two years of the app.

Whatever else lies in store for fans in Marvel Move is a mystery for now, but it certainly seems pretty exciting. So long as they don't absolutely horrify us by making us think we're being chased by Marvel Zombies versions of heroes, we're sold.
