Given the saturation of the city-builder genre, you might've thought we'd seen it all. After all, what sets one Medieval city-builder like Manor Lords apart from Banished or Foundation? It seems Slavic Magic has the 'magic' touch, as Manor Lords is leaving its rivals in the dust.

Despite only being released into early access on April 28, Manor Lords is already crossing sales milestones and breaking Steam records. You can now survey your kingdom as the lord or lady of the manor and put all your years of city-building expertise to the test.

Manor Lords crosses over one million sales

Publisher Hooded Horse has confirmed that Manor Lords sold over a million copies during its opening weekend and hit the lucrative milestone after just 30 hours on sale. The game's concurrent player count on Steam soared to over 170,000, making it the highest player number ever for a city-building game on Steam.

It's important to note that these figures don't take into account Manor Lords' PC Game Pass success, which is also seemingly going great guns. Since being announced in 2020, Manor Lords has apparently earned over three million Steam wishlists and currently has an 88% "Very Positive" review score based on over 23,000 reviews.

Also aiming to help Manor Lords stand out from the crowd, the ever-diligent modding community has already given it a VR makeover. Letting you get up close and personal with your villagers, Flat2VR has released the mod, which it claims works perfectly with Praydog's 'game-changing' UEVR mod.

As Manor Lords continues to climb and we can't get enough of playing god in our own Medieval kingdom, it looks like this is one to watch. Solo dev Greg Styczeń has already promised a slew of features, including archer damage and trade oversupply mechanics, so keep an eye on this bullish little builder.
