The M16 is a fan-favourite in the Call of Duty franchise and has made an appearance in multiple games throughout the series.
Known for its deadly burst fire, the M16 was immensely popular back in the original Warzone & MW2019 for a period of time, but since the release of MW2 & Warzone 2, it's never managed to gain a foothold in the meta.
Usually, the M16 is an AR that's built for long-range combat, but one talented MW2 player has changed that with an incredibly special loadout.
Transforming the M16 into a "lightning-quick" SMG, the setup is built for the fast pace of multiplayer and instantly deleting foes with a lethal TTK.

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user RandomGreenArcherMan shared their extremely unique M16 loadout that transforms the underrated AR into an SMG.
Pushing the M16's mobility to the limits while also maintaining its strong TTK, the setup allows you to glide around the map insta-killing foes with lethal burst-fire.
The Canted Virbo-Dot 7 laser makes locking onto targets extremely easy, especially at mid-range, meaning all of your bullets remain pinpoint accurate.
It's worth noting that while this build is strong, it can be unforgiving if you miss your shots and go up against a fully automatic weapon. However, if you're a fan of the M16 and want a powerful loadout to bring it back in multiplayer, this is the build for you.
How popular is the M16 in Modern Warfare 2?
According to WZRanked, the M16 has a 0.6% pick rate in Modern Warfare 2, and that's because most players assume the gun is only viable at mid to long-range.
