While Ubisoft has been pretty silent regarding its upcoming game based on the Avatar franchise, players have been quietly optimistic that an open-world title set on Pandora could be a truly gorgeous experience.
The publisher has now pulled out of E3 in 2023, seemingly gearing up for its own presentation. It has been expected for some time that the upcoming Frontiers of Pandora would be the highlight of the company's reveals this summer.
And that theory seems to grow even more believable by the day, as leaked screenshots from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora have appeared online.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora screenshots have leaked
Twitter account ScriptLeaksR6 has shared a series of images that seem to show off moments of gameplay from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on the site. For many, this confirms that Ubisoft's big plan for E3 was to show off some more of the open-world title.
The images show off three key things - first is a look at first-person action of a Na'vi with an assault rifle in hand. The second is a cutscene of Na'vi riding their Ikran, and finally, is the game's pre-order screen that comes with the Child of Two Worlds pack.
Even though the screenshots are pretty exciting by themselves, fans have pointed out that the game looks pretty similar to another big Ubiaoft name.Â
Fans are comparing Ubisoft's Avatar game to Far Cry
In the wake of these new leaked screenshots, fans have one opinion, and that's that the game looks strikingly like the Far Cry series, only with blue protagonists.
One complained, "Far Cry? It just looks like any other random shooter. Am I missing more screenshots or a video somewhere?" Another grumbled, "Hmm so it's really a reskinned Farcry game huh," while a third said, Yup, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is Far Cry with an Avatar skin laid on it."Â
Though there's still plenty to be seen, it's hard to deny the similarities. Still, point us to a Far Cry game where you can turn into a fake version of a native blue alien. Checkmate.
