League of Legends: Wild Rift offers a bunch of different modes, but what most people love to play is the Ranked mode. Ranked matches are fun to play, and players are matched according to their ranks as well. To unlock the ranked section, you will have to reach level 10 in the game.

The beginners have a low rank, and as they start playing their rank increases accordingly, depending on the overall performance. There are a total of ten different rank tiers in Wild Rift, but you need to play a minimum of ten matches to get your rank.

Riot Games have revealed the complete ranking system of League of Legends: Wild Rift, including the tiers, matchmaking, ranked fortitude, etc. to help you understand the ranked mode better.

Here is the full list of tiers in League of Legends: Wild Rift and gamers will have to start from the Iron tier and climb up to the highest, i.e., Challenger:

  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Grandmaster
  • Challenger

The Diamond tier and subsequent lower tiers are further split into four divisions, meaning users will have to climb from Iron IV to Iron I before being bumped up to Bronze IV.

Now in order to climb up from Iron to Emerald, you need to earn Ranked Marks while Victory Points will bump you up from Diamond to Challenger. The complete details of both the Ranked Marks and Victory Points are explained below.

Ranked Marks

Ranked Marks will help you to rank up through each division from Iron to Emerald. You will be awarded one Ranked Mark for winning a match while losing will remove one (except in Iron and Bronze). In addition to this, a different number of Ranked Marks will be needed to climb through different tiers.

Ranked Fortitude

If you earn enough Ranked Fortitude, it helps in preventing you from losing a Ranked Mark after getting defeated. Other than this, you might also end up scoring two Ranked Marks from a single win by earning more Ranked Fortitude.

Victory Points

As mentioned earlier, Victory Points will help you in climbing from Diamond to Challenger. Just like Ranked Marks, you will earn Victory Points after a win and lose them after a defeat. However, the number of Victory Points being awarded or taken back is determined by various factors, including the overall skill level of players on both teams.

While players need to earn 100 Victory Points to climb through each division of Diamond, however, the ranking system itself once you reach Master tier although Victory Points are still used to decide your rank.

There's one thing that you need to keep in mind regarding Victory Points which is they start to decay if you stay inactive for too long. The decay can be delayed by playing multiple ranked games per day.

Promotional Series

Promotional Series is the set of games that you play to advance between tiers (but not divisions). Here is the number of games you need to play to move through different tiers:

  • Iron–Bronze: Two wins to succeed, and three losses will be a failure.
  • Silver–Diamond: Three wins to succeed, and three losses will be a failure.
  • Master–Challenger: No promos required

If you succeed in your target, you will be pushed to the next tier with one Ranked Mark and temporary demotion protection; however, failure will remove two Ranked Marks.

Ranked Draft

Unlike the Normal Mode, where each player gets to pick any champion they want in Ranked Mode, the champion will be selected by following the S-draft method. Currently, there is no ban system for champions in the ranked mode that we see in the PC version of League of Legends because of the small champion pool of League of Legends: Wild Rift. The developers might add this to the game later after having enough champions.

Queue with 1, 2, 3, or 5 Players

The players can queue up for ranked games with parties of one, two, three, or five, and to further streamline the experience; all the parties are made to enter in a single queue. Although even if there is a single queue, you will be matched with a team of the same number of players.

Queueing with Higher/Lower-Ranked Friends

Since it makes no sense for a beginner to play with pros directly, the players must be within the difference of one Ranked tier to play together. As an example, a Gold player can play Ranked with their Silver and Platinum friends, regardless of division but can't invite someone from Silver-tier since they are more than one tier away. This rule applies to the whole team, i.e. all the players should not be more than one tier away from each other.

Ranked Rewards

All the players are rewarded with various in-game rewards according to their current tier in the game. While most of the rewards are distributed once the season ends, some are sent out mid-season for achieving certain tiers. You can collect the rewards earned by you from the in-game inbox.
