PlayStation Plus has really kicked into gear ever since its revamp, and though it took a while for the company to get on the subscription service hype, they've made it pretty comfortable for themselves.
Once a company that sniffed at the idea of bringing their first-party games to a service akin to Xbox's Game Pass, the likes of Horizon Forbidden West and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are gracing the service and making it as close to an essential purchase for PlayStation users as it ever could have gotten.
But, as PlayStation gears up to pull one of the service's best offerings, time is running out for some of the best games on the service.
The PS Plus Collection is about to self-destruct
We were warned, but it still feels too soon. The PS Plus Collection, the library of games that exemplified the quality of Sony's output that subscribers to PlayStation Plus could download and keep is finally shutting its doors, making now your final chance to pick up some iconic titles.
The games are saying goodbye to the service on May 9, meaning you have only today (May 8) to get the games downloaded. Thankfully, the games are yours to keep, meaning that downloading them now will come at no penalty to you.
Being able to hang onto these bangers is a chance you shouldn't pass up, but you'll have to act incredibly fast if you want them for yourself. Arguably the biggest you should be adding to your collection is 2018's God of War.
Sony Santa Monica's franchise reboot is held as one of the greatest video games of all time and also set the scene for 2022's God of War Ragnarok being equally well received. Of course, this is just the tip of an impressive iceberg.
What games are leaving PS Plus?
You'll have to download the PS Plus Collection on PS5 instead of PS4 or web, and be warned, you'll need an active PS Plus subscription to access them. If you're interested, the games that are about to get axed from the list of games are:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Battlefield 1
- Bloodborne
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Zombies Chronicles Edition)
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- Days Gone
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
- God of War (2018)
- Infamous Second Son
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Monster Hunter World
- Mortal Kombat X
- Ratchet and Clank
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Until Dawn
Don't make the mistake of letting this brilliant collection of titles slip through your fingers, because you'll kick yourself for not engaging. After all, it's not like you needed an excuse to play some classic Call of Duty Zombies.
