The dark arts are as deep and mysterious as it gets in the magical universe, and if you've already started to meddle in the madness, the Killing Curse might be one of your most-used spells.

But the Avada Kedavra curse isn't the only way players can kill their enemies in Hogwarts Legacy. Despite He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named making this art a lethality to steer away from, it appears that wizards before his time were actually much more brutal.

Although Hogwarts Legacy players haven't been splitting their soul into seven pieces to survive against the Boy Who Lived and their own prophecy, they have been having life-ending duels. Now, players have quickly racked up a higher body count than Lord Voldemort himself.

Hogwarts Legacy's Main Character Is Killing Every Enemy

According to Reddit theorists, your character is killing their enemies, whether that be goblins or other dark wizards. Even worse, they actually laugh about it.

One Redditor has claimed, "Your player character 100% kills the enemies he comes across. The ancient magic definitely proves that as you literally obliterate them into dust."

Even your standard Expelliarmus and Confringo are turning other wizards and witches into a pile of ash, meaning every person or creature you maim is actually heading straight to the Hogwarts Legacy graveyard.

Even the body-binding spell of Petrificus Totalus is actually killing enemies in one silent swoop. No matter what, you've been your very own murderous muggle without even knowing.

Your Main Character Loves Killing People In Hogwarts Legacy

Depending on your level, you might not have met no-nose's death total, but if you've begun to advance down the main quest, your body count has likely ticked above the Dark Lord's.

But whereas some dark wizards have hated killing in the past - or future if we take Severus Snape's case with Dumbledore - the Hogwarts Legacy protagonist seems to love it.

"If you kill a goblin for instance they'll say 'that's one less rebel for your army' or whatever, you only say that if that goblin isn’t coming back. So not only is your character definitely murdering people, they’re aware of it and make funny little quips about it," the Redditor added.

Maybe this is why Slytherin has proved to be the most popular house in Hogwarts Legacy. As the late and great Rubeus Hagrid once said, "There wasn't a witch or wizard who turned bad that wasn't in Slytherin House".
