Would you expect anything less from Hide Kojima? In a typically out-there way, the video game auteur has vowed to keep making video games for the next 100 years.

While Kojima hasn't unlocked the secret to eternal youth (although we wouldn't put it past him), he instead plans to carry on his legacy as an AI creation. If this is the case, we're just at the very start of Kojima Productions.

Will Hideo Kojima Become An AI?

Known for his work on the Metal Gear games, the former Konami beau left to set up Kojima Productions. It was here that we got the trippy Death Stranding - with a sequel on the way.

The 59-year-old Kojima still has plenty of life left in his veins, but speaking to IGN, he explained his grand plans to be immortalised beyond his games. Apparently, Kojima Productions is ready to enter its second phase.

When asked about what's next, Kojima explained, "I'll keep leading so long as I'm around, and all that matters to me is that our roots when it comes to creation are kept intact. But you know, I'll probably become an AI and stick around."

Saying he wants to continue leading Kojima Productions after his passing, Kojima added, "You need to be stimulated in lots of different ways if you want to keep creating new things, so I imagine I'll keep collaborating with others and taking in new things even if I'm an AI."

What's The Future Of AI?

Kojima's words are sure to shock some, especially amidst accusations we're heading toward a Terminator-inspired future that's ravaged by killer machines.

Only recently, Justin Roiland was called out for using AI to complete High on Life, with complaints it was robbing human artists of work.

AI is coming on leaps and bounds, but it's still got a long way to go. You only have to look at an AI's patchy attempt at creating a story for The Last of Us Part 3

Then again, just imagine what AI will be like in another few decades or when Kojimna eventually passes. Will Hideo live on as some robotic overlord of Kojima Productions, or will he simply go to the grave like the rest of us? Either way, it's a baffling idea he could live forever through a machine.
