The Underworld is calling us back, and not just because Supergiant Games is gearing up for Hades II. The OG is getting some TLC, as Hades is coming to mobile in 2024. Before you start cheering like you've just made it back to Mount Olympus, it comes with a pretty major caveat.

Hitting early access in 2018, Hades slowly developed a cult following before hitting the mainstream when it got a general release in 2020. After winning numerous Game of the Year awards, Hades proved that tenacious indie titles can go head-to-head with the big boys. Now, get ready for a whole new way to play.

Hades is coming to mobile...via Netflix

Hades mobile is on the way...but it's coming via Netflix. The streaming giant continues its dogged push into the gaming sphere, with Hades Mobile being a Netflix exclusive. While we still have our reservations about Netflix trying to conquer gaming, Hades could be a big pull for the genre.

Netflix has released a trailer for Hades Mobile, confirming that it'll be coming to iOS sometime in 2024. Although it's disappointing news for Android users, it's a major win for those who own an iPhone. Whether you're new to Hades or are a loyal fan who wants to take it for a spin on your morning commute, Zagreus is ready.

Supergiant confirms it has teamed up with Secret6 for the mobile port of Hades, which looks just like its console and PC equivalent. Given the runaway success of the title, we're surprised it took this long for Hades Mobile to crawl its way out of the River Styx, of course, its arrival comes at a cost.

Hades Mobile will cost you

Netflix has recently been in the crosshairs of disgruntled fans who are sick of the repeated price hikes. In a cost of living crisis, people are tightening their belts and questioning how many subscription services they need. With Netflix also clamping down on password sharing, we've seen its subscriber numbers fluctuate.

The password crackdown has apparently seen a surge in subscriptions, with Netflix claiming it recently bagged an additional 5.9 million subscribers. Still, it's doubtful that anyone will be stumping up the full cost of a subscription, just to play Hades Mobile.

As it stands, Netflix's gaming library (of around 80 games) feels like something of an afterthought. There was a buzz about Netflix potentially licensing some classic Grand Theft Auto games, while Hades Mobile is a move in the right direction for the promise of more big games coming to the service.
