H3CZ Hits Out At 'Piece Of Sh*t Acid Trip' CDL Skins And Minimalistic Effort From Activision

H3CZ has called for Activision to pass over the reigns when designing CDL skins, calling the latest batch a 'piece of sh*t'.

Activision and OpTic Gaming's relationship is at an all-time low, despite the organisations' Texas franchise hosting the first Call of Duty League live event of the year. Strenuous years of no developer support for the multi-million dollar league in which OpTic rose to fame in has led to the two parties butting heads on multiple occasions, no more recently than this recent week.

Earlier this week, OpTic Texas' prodigal Assault Rifle main Brandon "Dashy" Otell fired explicits at the league for their formatting. However, OpTic CEO Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez still remains with a bee in his bonnet after being personally "insulted" by the developers who bodged their brand name within the official Call of Duty store.

Now, his disgruntlement spilled over into a podcast, where he's asked the developers to hand over the reigns for designing the CDL skins, calling the latest batch a 'piece of sh*t'.

H3CZ Demands CDL Skins To Be Made By Teams In The Future

As OpTic look to get their arena glowing for the first Major of the CDL season, the Green Wall have been quick to snap up this years' release of team-based skins to represent H3CZ and co. in Vanguard - despite the org themselves hating the design.

Having opened a can of worms by discussing the "minimal effort" put in by Activision on the "Acid Trap" template, H3CZ soon implored that Activision should allow the individual teams to design the skins themselves.

He said, "I just wish that, if they're not going to try, then let us try. If you've got five graphic designers - I know there's more - and they're busy doing the Marvel or Star Wars or whatever collaboration they're doing next, let us do it and don't give us a piece of sh*t."

"If Activision gave us the template to do it, not only are we offloading work from them, essentially doing all the work they’re supposed to be doing, but we’re doing them a favour," he continued.

H3CZ Thanks Fans For Purchasing 'Sh*t' CDL Skins

Despite the implementation of the "sh*t" CDL skins into Vanguard, H3CZ did thank his loyal Green Wall fans for purchasing the OpTic bundle.

"Activision definitely look at the numbers and compare them to the Titan, and go 'Call of Duty League skins didn’t really sell that much.' No sh*t, you gave us a f**king acid trip throw up [blegh noise] as a skin," H3CZ said.

"Thank you for buying the skins. You’re not necessarily buying them because they’re cool. You’re buying them because you’re supporting a bigger picture."

Whilst fans may also find a problem with the in-game operator skins, OpTic Head Coach Raymond "Rambo" Lussier said they're "not bad" - presumably due to the simplicity being fair for players to use in the league. In recent years, CDL pros placed self-imposed bans on certain flashy in-game skins which either disadvantage or benefit teams, leaving Activision to strip back the branded costumes.

In a recent partnership with Razer, OpTic have become the first team to add in-game sponsorships to the operators, proving they're worth when it comes to skins. Maybe Modern Warfare 2 will be the year of hope for the CDL community - although we've all said this before...
