Ex-FaZe duo, Ladislav 'GuardiaN' Kovács, and Dauren 'AdreN' Kystaubayev have formed a mixed team for the IEM New York CIS Qualifier named 'OldG'.

Competing for a spot in the closed qualifier for the third Regional Major Ranking (RMR) for the ESL competition, the two have joined forces, over a year after AdreN appeared for FaZe Clan as a stand-in.

They're joined by three further players from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to complete the OldG roster. The full team is:

  • Dauren 'AdreN' Kystaubayev (Slovakia)
  • Ladislav 'GuardiaN' Kovács (Kazakhstan)
  • Mihail 'Dosia' Stolyarov (Russia)
  •  Žygimantas 'nukkye'" Chmieliauskas (Lithuania)
  •  Alexander "'lamp'" Noviy (Russia)

All five players join from being free agents or being inactive on a roster. GuardiaN joins from Natus Vincere after being made inactive in January. 22-year-old nukkye joins as the youngster of the group, a full decade younger than Dosia. nukkye comes as a free agent too after being made inactive at HellRaisers for the second time back in March, resulting in him leaving the organisation just two weeks after. The eldest, Dosia, comes with an esteemed resume, having once been voted the fourth-best player on Counter Strike: Global Offensive back in 2013. Dosia currently plays for Mustang whom he joined in March.

AdreN left Virtus.pro earlier this month (August 4) despite being just one of five players ever to make a major final with two different teams (Gambit and AVANGAR). Completing the line-up is lamp, who hasn't been a part of a team since October 2018, where he was part of a squad named 'Vyalie Pitoni'. The 23-year-old comes in as the least experienced player, adding an unknown element to the veteran squad.

GuardiaN, who was once voted the second-best player in the world in 2015, also reunites with Dosia, with the two playing together at Astana Dragons, HellRaisers, and the Gambit line up that won PGL Major Krakow.
