Ghost of Tsushima Is Wreaking Havoc On PS Plus
PlayStation Plus has adopted an incredibly weird strategy with its recent games. Of course, these titles are free, so we can't complain too much - but in recent months, PlayStation has been putting forward games that aren't actually full games for download by PS Plus subscribers.
Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep and Godfall: Challenger Edition have muddled the equilibrium of PS Plus, offering a stand-alone DLC and stripped back version of the base game respectively, making for an incredibly bizarre experience. This month's title is no different, but it actually comes with a much worse implication.
What's Wrong With Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends?
PS Plus is opting to give out one element of a full game once again, gifting players the chance to take on Ghost of Tsushima's Legends mode without giving them access to the full game. It's bizarre by itself, but it's also having some unexpected effects - as players that download Legends are being locked out of the discount for an upgrade to the Director's Cut of the game.
In a Reddit post/plea, user Ehrand warned players in the PS5 subreddit that installing the new mode locks them out of the cheap way to upgrade straight to the Director's Cut.
"Well after redeeming the ps5 version of the 'trial' of Legends, I noticed that the upgrade to the DC version of the game is now unavailable because I own the Ghost DC trial Tracker…" reads the post. "Also the ps5 upgrade is now completely gone from the store for me." Thankfully, it looks like there's a fix.
What's The Fix For The Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Bug
If you've been caught by the peculiar bug, don't worry - a fix has been found, though it's pretty frustrating. In response to the OP on Twitter, Sucker Punch Productions suggested that they contact PlayStation Customer Support to have the problem remedied - And according to the Reddit post's update, the tactic works.
It's frustrating that players have to go through official channels to remedy an irritating problem in the first place, but at least it's a temporary fix. It looks like PS Plus' plans to release half-games wasn't exactly heralded to PlayStation's store, but at least it's something. All we need now is Ghost of Tsushima 2.
