A new dawn of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive awaits and G2 Esports are preparing a shake-up to their lineup by signing a 16-year-old prodigy for a whopping $600,000 figure.

Following the conclusion of the PGL Major and with just one event left for the calendar year in the BLAST World Finals, many teams are eyeing a reshuffle in a bid to push through the rankings and knock Natus Vincere down from their worthy pedestal. With teams eyeing a trade before IEM Katowice in the new year, G2 Esports have been biding their time to snatch up a new AWPer, and they seem to have found their target in a 16-year-old.

G2 Esports Reportedly Reach Agreement For 16-Year-Old M0nesy

After rising to fame through the Na'Vi academy camp and being discussed as the hottest prospect in the world for CS:GO, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov is reportedly on his way to G2 Esports, as the two organisations have agreed on a fee of over half a million dollars for the 16-year-old Russian.

m0NESY, who has been at Na'Vi since January 2020, has often been compared to the parent AWPer Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, although he has yet to play a professional A-Tier game the organisation. Now, it appears Na'Vi has cashed in on their superstar in the making, according to a report from 1pv.

Who Will m0nesy Replace In G2 Esports?

The reports from 1pv suggest that the prodigy will be coming into the G2 Esports roster over either François "AmaNEk" Delaunay or Nemanja "nexa" Isaković, ruling out any notion of unrest from the Kovac cousins duo of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač.

Whilst AmaNEk appears to be the player on the hit list, over Audric "JaCkz" Jug, G2 may be forced to find a replacement for nexa, whose visa issues are proving problematic now that the world is opening up to offline LAN events once again.

The Serbian has faced issues with obtaining a visa to travel to Copenhagen for the BLAST World Finals in December, meaning we could see m0NESY be thrown into the starting lineup by the end of the year.

With such a colossal transfer looming over the head of the young man, G2 will be hoping the investment will ring true for the unproven star.

What Has Founding CEO Of G2, Carlos, Said?

We feel sorry for Carlos' mentions at the moment, with most people asking when the announcement is being made. However, he has recently Tweeted:

If you're familiar with Carlos' Twitter persona, you'll know not to take too much of what he says very seriously (it even says it in his bio). So take from his Tweet what you will. We'll update this article once we learn more.
