The Modern Warfare 2 arsenal of weapons in Warzone has a terrible reputation, and for the most part, it's easy to see why.

Plagued with muzzle smoke that blocks visibility and significantly worse damage stats than their MW3 counterparts, it doesn't feel like the devs have much love for the OG weapons. Despite this, a few MW2 options rise above the rest, even if the majority of the WZ community has forgotten them.

For WhosImmortal, one MW2 AR is particularly powerful thanks to its elite sprint-to-fire time, which makes landing the first shot on an opponent almost guaranteed.

  • Barrel: 508MM Rear Guard
  • Magazine: 42 Round Mag
  • Optic: CORIO Eagleseye 2.5x
  • Underbarrel: Chewk Angled Grip

Damage stats aside, landing the first bullet on your foe is absolutely key to winning as many gunfights as possible. To do this, you need a gun with a top-tier sprint-to-fire time that allows you to glide around the map and instantly down any foe in your path.

In this department, nothing can match the speed of the STB 556 Assault Rifle. This underrated pick from MW2 is lightning-fast and is best used when sprinting around a map looking for opponents.

If that wasn't enough, the gun has a "super competitive" TTK at 854ms at 30m, which is incredibly solid given the other options in the category. Ultimately, the STB's biggest strength is its unmatched sprint-to-fire, which is why it's such a threat in Battle Royale.

The STB 556 is actually the most popular MW2 gun in Warzone, according to WZStats, with a respectable 0.9% pick rate.

Given it's still tenth in the overall rankings behind nine other MW3 weapons, this isn't much in the grand scheme

If you're a run-and-gun competitor who never stops sprinting around the map, you're doing yourself a disservice by not running STB 556. Its sprint-to-fire speed is too good to ignore, so add it to your arsenal ASAP.
