Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 feels like it's right around the corner, and that's because it hopefully is. The era of fan interest in Vanguard seems to practically be over, and now, players are looking forwards to the future and the new sequel developed by Infinity Ward.
There's a hell of a lot of hype about a potential return to form for Call of Duty. Leaks and rumours have fuelled conversation and spurred speculation, but we actually haven't seen anything from behind the curtain - until now, because some supposed Call of Duty 2022 gameplay is spreading across the internet.
What Is The First Call Of Duty 2022 Gameplay?
Finally, we may have had our first look at the gameplay of the upcoming Modern Warfare 2. Sadly, though, it looks as though it has been recorded with a toaster.
It's typical of leaks like this, but either way, it could genuinely be our first peek at the upcoming Call of Duty game. The clip is incredibly short and has been bounced around the internet at an extremely high rate. Each tweet sharing it being taken down - adding a little bit of reassurance that it could be legit.
The footage shows the player running up a hill, flipping through weapons and cycling through inspection animations - and that's it. There's not an awful lot about it, but it's expected to be legitimate, though the link shared to the video isn't likely to be up for long.
Is This The First Warzone 2 Gameplay?
No one is quite sure whether this is Modern Warfare 2 gameplay or Warzone 2 gameplay. Either way, noted insider Tom Henderson suggested this is the real deal... but not quite what it seems. "For additional context, the images/videos are from around November/December of last year... Not recently," said Henderson. "So looking on the brighter side, it looks pretty good for a game that still has a year of development."
Leaks have been seriously ramping up over the last week, with one major dump suggesting Warzone 2 is similar to the Black Ops 4 battle royale mode Blackout. It could packing in extra missions for players to complete after dropping, while bringing in a PUBG-esque backpack system. There's a lot to look forward to with the Call of Duty franchise, and as these leaks crawl out of the woodwork, an announcement or reveal should be right around the corner. Bring it on.
