FaZe Clan has signed Markus 'Kjaerbye' Kjærbye from North, ahead of ESL Cologne. Kjaerbye comes into the roster replacing the young Aurimas 'Bymas' Pipiras who had been acting as a 'stand-in' since May 25.

After competing for FaZe at the DreamHack Masters Spring 2020, BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals, and cs_summit 6, Bymas joined Mousesports yesterday after leaving from the roster to make way for their new signing.

Kjaerbye joins FaZe as a free agent after leaving North on July 10. He had become an inactive member of the roster at North due to be being placed on medical leave, and two months after he subsequently left the organisation.

Kjaerbye made his name at Astralis, where he won a huge number of S-Tier championships before he swapped the fame and glory for North, who he believed would be the up and coming new dynasty in CS:GO. Ultimately, the move didn't go to plan, but with a new start at FaZe Clan, he could be on track to return to the top of the pack.

FaZe bring in Kjaerbye to actually replace Olofmeister who became an inactive member in May and trialled out Bymas in his place. Due to unconvincing performances, despite a promising reputation, the move didn't work out and has resulted in FaZe looking elsewhere to get their roster back on track. Bymas joined Mousesports as their sixth man and 'development' player.

The full roster now consists of

  • Håvard "rain" Nygaard
  • Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
  • Marcelo "coldzera" David
  • Helvijs "broky" Saukants
  • Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye
  • Janko "YNk" Paunović - coach

With the ESL Cologne event kicking off on August 23, FaZe now have just over two weeks to prepare with the new roster, in order to stand a chance at getting their hands on a large chunk of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
