If you want a job done, do it yourself. That's the attitude of the modding community, who take it upon themselves to do what the developers can't - or can't be bothered doing - especially in the MMORPG genre. Whether it be Minecraft, Elder Scrolls, or something new like Elden Ring, there's always something that's missing from a title that a modder will look to fix.

Elden Ring is no different. While mods for Skyrim, for example, have become massively convoluted and essential for the game, in Elden Ring they're often used to add humour to the game or enhance the online playing experience.

Now one mod has gone above and beyond to make co-op better.

Where Can I Get Elden Ring Co-op Mode?

We've seen a range of Elden Ring mods come to fruition. From easy mode mods to NSFW thirst traps, they've come in all shapes and sizes, and now one modder has finally fixed FromSoftware's lazy co-op mode.

Having been in the works for some time now, creator LukeYui has now made a "seamless" co-op mode that allows players to operate the entirety of Elden Ring with a companion.

The mod, available for download from NexusMods now, is in an early beta stage - so bugs can be expected - but removes all restrictions on cooperative play, and will never result in a ban to your account as FromSoftware crackdown on the mod community.

What Does The Elden Ring Co-op Mod Entail?

Elden Ring is admittedly pretty hard, if you hadn't already noticed. So, teaming up with your allies, or even splitting up to look for clues, will allow for a much smoother run. But, the mod has many features that help with this transition, compared to the feeble co-op mode already available.

Additions such as respawns (spawning back into the same world from the last bonfire, rather than the session being terminated), uninterrupted storylines, fog wall/barriers removal, and cross-game progression all make for this mod to be a perfect complement to your every-day Elden Ring experience.

So, whether you fancy gawping around the legacy dungeons, or full-sailing the final boss, you can now do so with a mate, and who doesn't love having a friend to get in trouble with?
