2009's Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most beloved Call of Duty games in the entire franchise, with the days of the Intervention and ACR offering peak CoD gameplay in the eyes of a lot of fans.

So, when leaks indicated that Moder Warfare 3 would be bringing remastered versions of every MW2 (2009) map at launch, the excitement reached an all-time high within the community.

With MW3 set to release on November 10, the countdown has truly begun. In the meantime, players have been debating which MW2 (2009) map is the best. With candidates like Terminal, Highrise, and Skidrow getting a lot of votes but not quite making the cut, the favourite may surprise you.

Which is the best Modern Warfare 2 (2009) map?

Taking to Twitter on August 15, popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL decided to spark a debate within the community around MW2 (2009).

Declaring that Wasteland was the "BEST Modern Warfare 2 2009 map" out of all the locations at launch, a lot of players surprisingly agreed with the tweet. It racked up a whopping 4,600 likes.

"This map was lowkey underrated," said one user, with another claiming, "This map was good for nukes, I liked it on S&D too, and sniping on it was fun."

Not everyone agreed, with some of the commentators arguing passionately for Terminal, Favela, Highrise and (of course) the chaos-filled Rust. It all comes down to preference at the end of the day, and with leaks indicating MW3 is bringing all of them back, it's going to be an incredible nostalgia trip for fans.

What's the worst Modern Warfare 2 (2009) map?

Of course, if you're going to establish the best, you've also got to find out what the worst MW2 (2009) map is in the eyes of fans.

Well, ModernWarzone decided to do exactly that, arguing that Underpass was by far the worst map in the game. A lot of players agreed with this statement, but users made sure to shout out Invasion, Sub Base, and Derail as well.

No matter what, every single MW2 (2009) map has a loyal CoD fan willing to vouch for its greatness, so it's safe to say every location will be appreciated if they're released with MW3.

With so much excitement growing around the return of these maps, let's hope the leaks are correct, or there's going to be a lot of disappointment.
