Halloween may be just about in the rearview mirror, but horror gaming never dies - and Sanguivore: Twenty Below, a new co-op puzzle title, is a testament to that.
The first-person adventure will debut in PC early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store on December 1st, meaning you'll be able to scare yourself silly in time for the holidays.
Co-op horror Sanguivore: Twenty Below sets December early access date
Sanguivore: Twenty Below is being developed by Blood Eater Games, and puts players in a 'puzzle complex' where they need to find creative solutions to escape from the titular Sanguivore.
Playable solo or with a team of friends, players will need to stay quiet to hide from blood-hungry vampires while moving stealthily between four distinct areas.
Similar to multiplayer horror staple Dead By Daylight, players can earn shards to unlock additional skills and cosmetics, with the idea being to complete runs as quickly as possible.
"Forthright Entertainment and Blood Eater Games are pleased to be partnering up on this fun, horror co-op experience," Ryan Waller from publisher Forthright Entertainment explained via press release.
"It really is a mix of Escape Room meets Escape Town and working together as a team, solving puzzles and stealth is your primary focus whilst being hunted. The huge amount of fun we have had playtesting the game means we are sure fans of Horror co-op survival games will have an amazing time whilst we shape the game for the full release in 2024."
How Sanguivore: Twenty Below is using early access
The Unreal Engine 5 title is intended to use early access to help facilitate the development of "a minimum of three comprehensive maps" (as per the Steam listing), with two playtests scheduled ahead of December, too.
We've seen plenty of multiplayer horror titles come and go over the years, but I'm certainly intrigued to see what Sanguivore offers, with the developers promising multiple solutions to its puzzles - something that may make it easier to coordinate with other players.
For more, you can wishlist the game on Steam, but it'll come to the Epic Games Store, too.
