Cliff Bleszinski Shares Scrapped Gears Of War Sequel Plans
The Gears series has sat pretty quietly for a little while - but that's probably so the hype for the upcoming Gears of War Netflix movie and TV series can run its course.
With even Dave Bautista, the only man on earth who actually looks like a Gear of War character, lobbying to take up the film's lead role, fans are starting to get excited about the prospect of the bold return of Marcus Fenix.
In the meantime, though, the original Gears creator has been vocal on Twitter about his involvement in the series, what he'd like to see of its future, and his hopes for Netflix's adaptations. Now, he's revealed what was scrapped from his vision for the future of the series.
Cliff Bleszinski Shares Exciting New Locust Designs
Bleszinski departed the creative team for the series after the launch of Gears of War 3, but now, he's taken to Twitter to share ideas he came up with for some of the monsters that were set to appear in his Gears of War 4.
Tweeting concept art for his ideas of upcoming locusts to come to the series, Bleszinski has revealed his vision for the direction that the enemies of the series could have taken.
Busting out of the confines of their underground lairs, it's certainly interesting to see Locusts take to the sky and sea for a natural evolution of the Gears name.
It's a pretty big shame that we won't get to see these incredibly detailed monsters come to life - especially the Underwater Boomer, which looks immensely Lovecraftian.
What's Next For Gears Of War?
As of right now, we don't actually know anything about a potential Gears 6, but The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios are expected to be working on a new title in the series as we speak.
Of course, the priority for the series now rests in its adaptations, with Netflix promising to bring the brutal world to life in high-budget fashion.
Here's hoping that it's actually good, as the series could do with some love right now. After all, while we're being shown what we could have had, it's made us want a return to Gears of War more than ever.
