As the Call of Duty League prepares to unravel their 2022 season with the Kickoff Classic, all eyes are on how the newly formed rosters will fare against the established reigning champions. It now appears that despite the wealth of changes to nine teams in the league, Atlanta FaZe remain the undeniable bounties.

The squad of Chris "Simp" Lehr, Alec "Arcitys" Sanderson, Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris, and McArthur "Cellium" Jovel ended last year on the throne after fending off the cognitive Toronto Ultra in the Grand Final, and after choosing to stick together for the upcoming season, teams have now voted them to be the best side going into the new year.

CDL Players Rank Atlanta FaZe As Best Team In Power Rankings

According to Dot Esports reporter Cory "CRONE" Davis, the player base of the Call of Duty League have opted to place Atlanta FaZe at the top of their power rankings, despite the attraction of an all-star OpTic Texas roster and the championship-ready New York Subliners.

The report claims that the players have voted FaZe to be in pole position to start the year as they mean to go off, which was backed by an interview snippet from James "Clayster" Eubanks released by the league.

OpTic Texas' new-look roster, compiled of half of the Chicago roster and the Dallas Empire young-guns, have struck fear into the league too, who follow FaZe in second place in the eyes of the pros. After impressing in scrims, the Green Wall and FaZe Up fanatics' rivalry will be more intense than ever before.

Toronto Ultra has been voted to be the third-best team going into the Kickoff Classic, with a surprising entry in fourth for Seattle Surge. Also looking to be a renewed franchise after back-to-back years anchored to the bottom of the league, their extremely young roster have been highly rated by their peers in their early displays.

Player-picked CDL Power Rankings

The report from Dot Esports kicks off with an unsurprising rock-bottom Paris Legion team, and has a surprisingly high position for the Boston Breach, despite only joining the league two weeks ago.

  1. Atlanta FaZe
  2. OpTic Texas
  3. Toronto Ultra
  4. Seattle Surge
  5. Boston Breach
  6. New York Subliners
  7. Los Angeles Thieves
  8. Minnesota ROKKR
  9. Los Angeles Guerrillas
  10. London Royal Raves
  11. Florida Mutineers
  12. Paris Legion

The Kickoff Classic will be a better telling of who is ready to challenge the reigning champions FaZe, which kicks off on January 21.
