Camping has been a problem in online shooters for about as long as they've been around. Anyone who's played any Call of Duty title has dealt with them - the cheeky little so-and-sos who trade genuine fun frenetic gunplay for squatting in a corner and beaming anyone who steps into their field of view.
It's the sort of thing you can't really patch out of a game, and as such, players have always been more than prepared to simply sit down and let the kills come to them. And it looks like the problem's only going to get worse in Warzone, as someone has discovered the camping spot to end all camping spots.
Player Discovers The Best Camping Spot In Warzone
One player has taken to Reddit to share an incredible camping spot they've found. As you can see, it lets them pick off unsuspecting combatants with ease. Cue the usual angry rants.
Reddit user BigStuggz has shown the world their secret camping spot in the CODWarzone subreddit with a video, detailing how exactly to get there, and how effective it really is. The video begins with the player on the roof at the Mines POI in Caldera, shows them jumping off a roof and parachuting over to one of the containers that hangs on the zipline that comes away from the building.
From there, they're able to duck completely out of sight and pop up to pick off enemies from afar. Though camping is a problem in the game, there are few better spots for it - and fans have surprisingly reacted with open arms in the comments.
Fans React To Perfect Camping Spot In Caldera
Players have rallied around the original poster, suggesting that they'll be next to take up the incredible camping spot. "It's a nasty move but a good one!" says one user. "And a dub is a dub." "That's the spirit of BR," says another. "Whoever gets the last kill wins. It's a game of survival not killing."
One other user seems impressed by the move, but isn't actually all that happy about it. "GGs, this is a funny clip because it didn't happen to me," they say. "But players like OP are exactly why I no longer play normal BR solos. I'm tired of spending 20 minutes playing the game and getting kills only to be killed by someone like OP that's been sat in the same bush for the past 15 minutes."
Yikes. Whatever you think of camping in the likes of Warzone, simply telling people to stop isn't going to work, so you're going to have to get used to it. The camping spot is an impressive find, and one that's clearly effective - but it's rubbing some players the wrong way.
Though the game has a focus on sheer survival, some players still get hung up on the kills - and it's hard to blame them. Who knows if this camping spot will become a new fan favourite, but until then, we'll keep on raging at the campers elsewhere on the map.
