Call Of Duty: Vanguard Is Finally Getting A Proper Zombies Mode
Call of Duty: Vanguard's Zombies mode has been cursed.
Before the game's launch, fans were excited to see a prequel to Black Ops Cold War's fascinating and fun Zombies mode - but Vanguard's launch brought a different story. The game was practically unfinished, with a strange and boring Zombies mode that didn't reflect the series' history, nor bring anything exciting to the table. It was a disaster, and fans hated it.
And now, Call of Duty is finally coming through with what they'd promised.
Vanguard Is Finally Getting Round-Based Zombies
It looks like Vanguard is finally getting the Zombies experience, as Treyarch has now confirmed in a blog post on their site.
Announcing the return of round-based Zombies, Treyarch has said that "It's happening," like that's not what we expected from the start.
"With the launches of Der Anfang and Terra Maledicta wrapped up and our seasonal updates out in the wild, the Vanguard Zombies team is focussing its efforts on the groundwork required to bring round-based Zombies to Vanguard," reads the blog post.
The post also reveals that the first instance of round-based Zombies for the game will come with a redesign of the classic World at War map Shi No Numa, introducing a new main quest, remastered Easter eggs and a new narrative.
But, the mode might take a minute to get here.
Zombies Will Take Some Time To Get Here
Though it might be on the way, Treyarch has been clear that the mode isn't going to be here right away.
"While we're extremely excited to deliver this classic style of gameplay for Vanguard players, we want to set the expectation up-front that it's going to take some time to get it into your hands," they said. "This involves extensive systems development from the ground-up in a variety of areas, including the design, implementation, and testing of round-based wave spawning and AI pathing, zoning systems, fast travel mechanics, Door Buys, Wall Buys, and plenty more."
So, though it might not be here in Season 3, at least we know that round-based Zombies is coming. A bit late, but it's coming regardless. Here's hoping that fans can forgive the wait.
