It looks like Call of Duty: Vanguard has learned its lesson - and more classic Zombies maps could be on the way. When the game first launched last year, it let players into its multiplayer and campaign modes with no trouble, while the beloved Zombies mode was a total disaster.

Boring objectives, an open map that had nothing compelling about it, and a confusing storyline that baffled both new and old players of the mode. Zombies completely botched its launch, and many felt that those shufflers were dead in the water.

But Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch seem to be trying to turn a corner with a remake of the classic map Shi No Numa, heralding the return of round-based Zombies in hopes that fans will flock back to the game. Though the numbers remain to be seen, fans seem to be reluctantly dipping their toes back in. And now, there could be plans to bring back more classics Zombies maps.

Is Call Of Duty: Vanguard Bringing Back More Classic Zombies Maps?

It certainly seems like Vanguard is taking notes on what Zombies fans want after the game's catastrophic launch, as the teams are hinting that more recognisable maps could be on their way back to the franchise.

After the launch of Shi No Numa, YouTuber MrDalekJD has pointed out on Twitter that the blog post that came with the debut of the map suggests that the Swamp of Death is the "first classic, round-based Zombies experience in Vanguard." Interesting use of "first," there. Call of Duty has indicated that it was intentional, too, as the account replied to MrDalekJD's tweet with a shifty, suggestive eyes emoji. So, that leaves the question - what's next?

What Zombies Maps Could Return For Vanguard?

There's no telling what classic Zombies maps could return, but there's one that fans have wanted for some time - Kino Der Toten. The Black Ops classic has been a fan-favourite for some time. Pretty much all of the maps from that game, for better or worse, are beloved - so why not dedicate to bringing them back?

Zombies fans would love it, and who knows, maybe faith in Vanguard's Zombies mode and the game at large could yet be restored? As those rumours of a Zombies standalone have seemingly died down, Treyarch has plenty of time to remaster classic Zombies maps. You've got a challenge now. Don't let us down, yeah?
