Call of Duty fans are shocked at the unhelpful message a player received after their account was deleted without warning.
The player contacted Activision Player Support after being unable to access their account, only to be told that it had been deleted and was unrecoverable.
A Call of Duty player received an “unacceptable” email from Activision Player Support
Reddit user CapnGnobby took to the Call of Duty subreddit to share a rather disappointing message he received from Activision support after reaching out to find out why his account had disappeared.
The message reads: “Hi Greg, Diego here from Activision Player Support.
“After the Senior Team reviewed your case, they were able to find that the account you say was deleted on 10/22, so unfortunately we will not be able to do anything to recover it.
“Have a wonderful day.”
The response left a lot to be desired, and CapnGnobby shared that he was very upset by the lack of support.
“After almost a week of hounding them to get me my account back, I heard nothing for the past 3 days and then I get this,” he said.
“Quite frankly it's unacceptable and absurd that someone was able to steal my account and delete it so easily.”
In comments, CapnGnobby said that his account was very secure and that the deletion happened quickly, with him logging out on Friday and the account being deleted by Sunday.
Players are shocked at the unhelpful support message
Several of the comments on the Reddit thread pointed out how rude and unhelpful the message came across, especially the final line telling him to “have a wonderful day.”
“Basically: Hi Greg. Fuck you. Have a wonderful day,” wrote one Reddit user.
Another said: “Keep fighting this OP! This is bullshit otherwise, can’t believe that’s all they had to say.”
Other players commented on some of their own experiences with Activision Player Support which had left a lot to be desired.
One commenter said: “Exact same thing happened to me halfway through season 5. I put in multiple tickets, went through BBB, and all got the same response.”
Another Redditor shared that they had encountered the same Diego in their customer service journey, only to be told to have a wonderful day themselves.
