Throughout the years, Call of Duty has gotten wrapped up inside its own head, being pulled from pillar to post to appease every corner of the community.

Along the way - heightened by the introduction of battle royales - the core Call of Duty experience has been lost.

But what actually makes a good CoD game? And how would Activision go about making it? Well, one Call of Duty insider has now revealed their ideal medly of CoD features to make the "perfect" game, and fans are going crazy for it.

Despite Activision shutting down a wealth of mods and fan-made Call of Duty projects, one insider has now picked apart the series and revealed just what needs to be added to a future game to make CoD great again.

Renowned leaked "TheGhostOfHope" has put together a list of features that would make the perfect game - hoping to take us back to the glory days of the original Black Ops and Modern Warfare titles.

Taking to Twitter, the personality pointed out things such as, "Maps designed by Treyarch, Graphics/Engine/Animations designed by Infinity Ward, Pick 10/Gunsmith Hybrid, Traditional Spawns, and MW3/BO2 movement," need to be added back to the franchise.

What would make the perfect Call of Duty?

"Map Voting, Classic Minimap, Ninja Perk, Cold War TTK, Scorestreaks, SBMM heavily toned down, MWII’s camo progression system, Treyarch’s calling card challenges, Pro Perks, and Specialist Bonus," were all other features that they pointed out.

Unsurprisingly, fans loved this concept, adding one or two slight tweaks, but we all know the CoD community can never be 100% happy. One supporter wrote, "I agree with everything except Ninja Perk. That’s the only thing I’m glad they changed up in the franchise."

Another added, "Very simple formula that they just can’t seem to grasp. It's because @Activision doesn't care about making games people want. All they care about is microtransactions at this point." A third concluded, "As a community need to accept that Call of Duty isn't what it was, and it'll never be that again."

Previously, Infinity Ward did actually hint at scrapping annual releases in favour of one medley Call of Duty console game, a highly requested approach, which would be akin to CoD: Mobile by picking out the best features from years gone by and morphing it into one game, so Ghost's idea could come to fruition at some point.
