It goes without saying at this point, but Call of Duty has grown synonymous with cheating in video games. The series has been raided by intense hacking waves that even the fresh RICOCHET kernel Call of Duty anti-cheat has simply failed to keep up with.

Vanguard and Warzone struggle on the daily to make sure that games are undisturbed by players with cheats, to no avail. It's hard to watch, and even harder to play. But, it looks like the series is deploying a new technique to deter the wrong-uns with the Call of Duty anti-cheat

What Is The New Call Of Duty Anti-Cheat?

Call of Duty seems to be getting more creative with the ways it punishes cheaters, and now, Raven Software has added a new deterrent to Warzone that strips players of their ability to fight back... or fight at all, for that matter.

In a new blog post, developers have explained the new "disarm" plans. When players are caught cheating, their guns will be robbed of them. If this wasn't enough, they're left completely defenceless as they also won't be able to use their firsts. Punching an enemy to death might not be our first choice of weapon, but it can come in handy when in a tight spot.

"We don't expect many clips of this to find their way online, but we have seen it in action and the reactions from cheaters are always priceless," it says. That all sounds well and good from the Call of Duty anti-cheat, but mocking cheaters with increasingly imaginative ways like the recent God Mode isn't a proper fix.

Why Won't Warzone Kick Cheaters?

A lot of players are confused as to why Warzone isn't just booting players from games to minimise the damage on our gameplay experience - and the post actually explains why Raven aims to keep cheaters around. "The aim for mitigations is to keep cheaters in-game to analyze their data while reducing their ability to impact a legitimate player's experience," reads the post. "The data above shows that as mitigations are active, we see a reduction in cheater reports."

So, it seems as though messing with players is actually helping the cause of binning cheaters. Even if this is sure to do nothing to quell those complaints that Warzone is a cheaters paradise, we're all for it. You only have to take a glance at anything Raven posts on Twitter to see cheating is a problem that Warzone will likely never be able to get rid of. Until Infinity Ward steps in to start from scratch with Warzone 2.0, prank away, Raven.
