Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team c0ntact gaming has officially signed Owen "smooya" Butterfield and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi to roster, its with the news confirmed earlier on smooya's official Twitter account.

This was originally rumoured (but not confirmed) by "multiple sources close to the team", however, smooya's tweet confirmed that both he and Spinx would be joining the team on a trial basis. The pair are stepping in for Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov and Luka "emi" Vuković.

The tweet read: "I will be standing in for @c0ntactCS the next couple of weeks. Excited to get back into official matches with a dedicated team, thank you for the chance @NeiL_Mcs I will be joining as 2nd AWP along side the beast @SpinxCSGO, super pumped to see what we can achieve."

Spinx also posted about the signing to his Twitter, thanking c0ntact for the opportunity: "I'm happy for the opportunity I got to trial in@c0ntactcs. Let's destroy."

Following the announcements, c0ntact confirmed the new additions would be starting with the team during Malta Vibes week 9, stating the event as the first time smooya and Spinx would be playing as part of the team.

It's a milestone moment for smooya as the first time since March he's played professionally - following a short stint at Chaos Esports Club. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the CS:GO player was unable to acquire a visa to play and his time with the club was short-lived. Spinx, on the other hand, is less experienced in the professional esports sphere, but the 19-year-old is by no means out of place.

Spinx's only recorded matches were last month during a mixed lineup called “Tikitaka.", but at present, he is the top ranked FACEIT Pro League player for the month of August - which is a pretty impressive feat. It's no wonder that c0ntact snapped him up as soon as they could.
