Amazon reportedly leaks Hogwarts Legacy release date in time for Christmas
Despite the changing attitudes to Harry Potter as a series thanks to the views of its author alienating muggles and wizards alike, video game fans are hotly anticipating the arrival of Hogwarts Legacy. There's one problem though, we don't have a Hogwarts Legacy release date.
To be perfectly fair, the Wizarding World has a long history of fervent fandom, so it's hardly a surprise that the opportunity to explore the iconic Hogwarts yourself and carve out a magical adventure has been a point of such excitement. The game does look like a fantastic traipse through this world, yet fans have wondered when we can expect it - and now, it looks like we've got a leaked release date.
Has Amazon leaked the Hogwarts Legacy release date?
Amazon has updated the release date of some official merchandise for Hogwarts Legacy, meaning a lot of players have theorised that this means there's a confirmed release date floating around behind the scenes.
The release date of the art book for the game, titled The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy: Exploring the Unwritten Wizarding World, has changed from a general December placeholder to December 6. This could indicate the same release date for the game itself. After all, the release of the art book before its subject wouldn't make an awful lot of sense.
Fans have also noted that this would be a Tuesday, and as many game releases fall on either a Tuesday or Friday, the minds of a lot of fans have already been made up. December 6 looks to be the day, so fingers crossed for an early Christmas present from Avalanche Software.
Gotham Knights May Have Proven Hogwarts Legacy's Date
Interestingly, as extra proof of the release date of the book being the very same as that of the game, Gotham Knights is in a similar position. The upcoming Warner Bros game is set to release on October 25, which is the very same day as the Amazon launch of its art book - meaning that it's even more likely that Hogwarts Legacy will launch on December 6.
It's big news, especially for Potterheads - and it means that the game is definitely going to be here before Christmas. We've always loved Hogwarts in the snow, so here's to a winter butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks and some carols around the fire.
