All You Need To Know About The CS:GO August Update

August 6 saw an update come to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, including a new skin collection 'Fracture' and balances to maps such as Swamp, Mutiny, and Anubis.

CS:GO fans can find solace in the newest update, with a range of new cosmetics landing, rather than even more maps. Instead of adding more, Valve has adjusted three maps to allow for better overall performance and to allow for new boosts.

The Fracture Case will be made up of 17 weapon finishes made from community artists. This comes as the first cosmetic bundle in six months, featuring stunning skins for guns such as the AK-47 (Legion of Anubis), Galil AR (Connexion), M4A4 (Tooth Fairy), and SSG 08 (Mainframe 001).

Currently, each Fracture Case is going for around $20 on the marketplace, however, this will likely come down in the near future, and you can even pick these up in-game. A full list of Fracture Case skins is:

  • AK-47 - Legion of Anubis (By Apel)
  • Desert Eagle - Printstream (By JTPNZ)
  • M4A4 - Tooth Fairy (By 2minds)
  • Glock-18 - Vogue (By K A S I)
  • XM1014 - Entombed (By Sparkwire)
  • MAC-10 - Allure (By WhoisVac9)
  • Galil AR - Connexion (By VLEK and hexeth)
  • Tec-9 - Brother (By Fredy and Krueger)
  • MP5 - Kitbash (By SA_22)
  • MAG-7 - Monster Call (By Gent)
  • SG 553 - Ol' Rusty (By Ertz and Sir Kibbleknight)
  • SSG 08 - Mainframe 001 (By dC^ and MultiH)
  • PP-Bizon - Runic (By Kai)
  • P90 - Freight (By Moonfighter, Conne, Senkizh, and 11it)
  • P250 - Cassette (By Mishovy)
  • Negev -Ultralight (By Hoxton)
  • P2000 - Gnarled (By 3stia)

The new maps, Swamp and Mutiny have undergone another rebalance, as players have been abusing multiple exploits across both maps. Swamp has received a huge boost in performance, and the entrance to mid has been altered. Furthermore, a clipping issue has been fixed where weapons could fall under the map.

Mutiny has become much more open, especially around the A bomb site. Much of the cover has been removed, alongside the ceiling being increased in various sectors.

As for Anubis, a lot of bugs were fixed and patched, such as being able to see through walls near the bridge, routes near the B bombsite and stopping weapons falling through stairs and the floor.

The update is fully operational allowing you to pick up the Fracture Cases and have much more success on Mutiny's A bombsite.
