Not to be outdone by their international counterparts from the west, the Chinese and Korean All-Star representatives showed up big time for Day Two of the 2019 All-Star Event. Between the League of Legends Pro League’s Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok dominating his side of the 1v1 bracket and the Korean team winning their side of the grudge match against their LPL rivals, the second day of the tournament was even more action-packed than the first.

New Day, New Gamemodes

Similarly to Day One, the Day Two’s schedule continued the 1v1 and Teamfight Tactics tournaments, and also reintroduced two classic All-Star showmatch gamemodes: the tandem 5v5 mode and the 5v5 all-assassin mode.

As the name implies, Tandem Mode forces players to play in pairs with one person controlling mouse movements and the other responsible for using the keyboard. Also as the name implies, hilarity was bound to ensue.

The 5v5 assassin mode is equally as straightforward, but unlike Tandem Mode left plenty of room for high-level mechanical outplays and a lot more fighting. What made things even more interesting was that popular League personalities Midbeast and Redmercy got to join in on the fun with all of the fun with the pros.

Day Two Results

Day Two ended with Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau carrying the torch as the last remaining western 1v1 participant, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Hong "MadLife" Min-gi flexing their mechanical prowess, and the TFT tournament inching to a close. You can find the rest of the day’s results below.
