As the football (soccer) world is gearing up for quite the tantalising climax in the respective national leagues, those fans in Europe are all also strapping their boots on for a summer festival as Euro 2024 beckons.

The international tournament will bring together 24 of the region's elite countries to duke it out for the second-biggest honour in football.

But that doesn't appear to be the only celebration of the beautiful game that is planned for the summer, as leaks are indicating the 2K is set to announce a football title this summer, jumping on the hype of the Euros.

And 2K might have even more planned...

Previous leaks from the PlayStation store revealed that a LEGO football game appeared to be in development by 2K, with the first art promo having been shared depicting a Lionel Messi figure being jockeyed by a pegleg pirate while a dragon flew overhead. Yep, confusing.

However, new leaks by Twitter user "Kurakasis" have now claimed that LEGO 2K Goooal! is on the way.

The leak also claimed that an announcement is set for roughly mid-June to early July to coincide with Euro 2024.

This also comes in the wake of 2K reportedly eyeing a proper football game, as they appear to be reawakening the beast that is FIFA.

On top of the LEGO 2K leaks, Insider Gaming journalist Mike Straw took to Twitter to claim that FIFA is working with 2K to revive the series, having already produced legendary titles for Basketball (NBA), Wrestling (WWE), and Golf (PGA Tour).

This would see 2K take over the FIFA footballing brand, given that EA decided to break away from the partnership with the footballing body and its iconic name to create FC 24.

The officially-licensed FIFA 2K game could also be revealed in cohesion with Euro 2024 and LEGO 2K Goooal this summer.

Given there's also eFootball and UFL looking to usurp EA FC, the footballing market appears to have just gotten much more volatile, and Take-Two Interactive rarely lose...
