Women can't appear in video games without being objectified within an inch of their lives, even if every care is taken to make sure that the character isn't merely reduced to their physical appearance.
Adult materials pertaining to video game characters, whether animated or in cosplay, have been pretty popular for some time now (especially since a certain Blizzard game arrived on the scene). Now, Pornhub's annual search results have revealed what everyone's been looking at. Frankly, we'd rather not have known.
Pornhub reveals gamer's searches in 2023
Pornhub has once again released its wrapped-alike, with stats pointing out exactly what people are searching the site for when it comes to video games and their characters. The results are actually pretty fascinating.
The most searched game, by quite a long way, is Fortnite. This isn't exactly surprising, especially as it's followed up by the game with the most infamous reputation for porn production, Overwatch.
The rest of the list features some pretty curious picks, including Atomic Heart (people must have really liked those faceless robots, let's not psychoanalyse that), The Sims (aren't they just people?) and Detroit: Become Human (don't dig into the politics of trying to bonk a robot in a game that draws their very rights into question).
Luckily, Among Us has fallen a few spaces on the list in the last year, because that at least means we don't have to ask as many questions about the logistics of it all. There's still plenty of popularity for Resident Evil's Lady Dimitrescu, although we do wonder why Pokemon is the fourth on the list of most searched-for gaming pornography.
Fans are really into Chun-Li… from Fortnite
Bizarrely, a Fortnite character has topped the charts of Pornhub searches - except they aren't really a Fortnite character. It turns out a Street Fighter staple has crossed the boundaries into a very different arena.
The number one searched-for gaming name on Pornhub was Chun-Li, who you'll recognise from Street Fighter. Apparently, it's her appearance in Fortnite that clearly got fans going, as that's what people were actually searching for.
It seems that the horn makes players lose their sense as well as their pants, and once again, we're forced to be unsurprised that people are searching for Sonic the Hedgehog's feet. Don't worry, we're not here to judge.
